Alexander P. Sterling (Williams), 24, Johnson City, lived his life to the fullest and unexpectedly transitioned from this life, at his home, on Sunday, December 31, 2023.Alex was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He grew up attending the Johnson City School System, where he was active playing soccer and baseball, then in his late teens, found a passion for cooking. Alex briefly attended Northeast State Technical College, then pursued his dream of becoming a Chef by moving to Florence, Italy and attending Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute. To say he had a tennis shoe fetish would be putting it lightly, he was true aficionado, and created a bot that was the quickest way to purchase tennis shoes as soon as they hit the market. This was so advanced and such a success, Alex easily sold his invention. As a child, he was a huge fan of professional wrestling, played pool since he could drag a stool around a pool table, and as he got older, became an avid fisherman.Alex is survived by his loving mother and best friend, Bobbie Elizabeth Sterling; maternal grandparents, Kimball and Victoria Sterling; maternal great-grandmother, Emma Salley; aunts, Emma Sterling and fiancé Colden (cousins Lennox, Apollo & Messiah) and Katie Sterling; uncle Paul Dube; God-father, Emeka Moses; father, Travis Williams; paternal grandmother, Kathryn Laws; half-sister, Danica Williams; and many unofficially adopted brothers and sisters. The memorial service celebrating Alex’s life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 7:00 P.M., from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Ruth Taylor Read, officiating. The family will be receiving friends Saturday prior to the service from 5:00–7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
