Paris Wade Evans

September 30, 1942 ~ April 20, 2018 (age 75)


Wade Evans, 75, Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 20, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Sammie and Mary Evans, of Johnson City.


Wade was a graduate of Science Hill High School and served in the United States Air Force.  He was a member of East Unaka Christian Church where he accepted Christ at a young age.  He was a longtime employee of SmithKline Beecham and later Quest Diagnostics, from where he retired ten years ago.  Wade loved the outdoors and was an avid sports fan.  He also enjoyed working in the garden and spending time with family and friends.  He was a devoted son and faithful caretaker to his loving mother.


He is survived by his brother, Marvin Denny Evans and wife Rhonda, Church Hill; his beloved niece, Shannon Evans, Church Hill; uncle Ralph Triplett of Jonesborough; aunt Wilma Triplett of Jonesborough; special cousin and caretaker, Jerry Evans.  Jerry, we will never be able to thank you enough for everything you have done for Wade over the last five months.  He is also survived by close cousins Mitch Triplett, Karen Bearfield and Byron K Wagner; special friends Kenneth Dawson and Thresia Lukianoff; and very special furry companion Scooby.  The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice and the Veterans Administration for their care.  


The funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 23, 2018, at 7 PM, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Dr. Wayne Emery officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Monday prior to the service.  The graveside committal service will be Tuesday at 12 PM in Monte Vista Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.  Memories and condolences may be shared at Welcome to Appalachian Funeral Home & Cremation Service  Appalachian Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 800 E.
