Margaret Rebecca (Dunn) “Granny” Taylor

July 16, 1925 – July 26, 2018

Margaret Rebecca (Dunn) “Granny” Taylor, 93, was everyone’s Granny! Sadly, our Granny died on July 26, 2018 from a worn-out, much-used loving heart. Margaret was a native of Johnson City, Tennessee, where she spent her entire life loving her family, babysitting countless children and making them her extended family. She was a homemaker by trade, and a loving soul by the grace of God.

Her family was always the most important thing to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph Dunn, Sr. and Hazel Jenkins Dunn; two brothers, Rudolph Dunn, Jr. and Hugh Dunn; one sister, Beatrice Dunn Greer; her husband, the love of her life, Elmer Lee Taylor; her daughter, Linda Ruth Frazier and son-in-law, Bobby Frazier.

She is survived by her daughter, and loving caregiver, Patricia Ann Miller and husband Frank Miller; three grandchildren – Wendy Graham (husband, Brian); Jessica Workman (husband, Cory Mcgown); and Lisa Campbell (husband, Jack); and eight great-grandchildren – Mason Graham, Hayden Graham, Nicholas Campbell, Laney Campbell, Kenzie Workman, Blake Workman, Rylee Mcgown and Marley Mcgown. All of which reside in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was also very fortunate to have several very special nieces and nephews in her life.

Margaret was a God-loving Christian and life-long member of Walnut Christian Church for 80+ years. She was known for constantly singing and humming her favorite hymns around the house. She was a matriarch, an avid quilter, a great cook, a loving babysitter and a strong, independent woman with a heart of gold! She was a very loving and nurturing lady.

Her family will be receiving friends at her celebration of life from 4:30pm-7:00pm on Sunday, July 29 at Walnut Christian Church (2318 S. Greenwood Drive), Johnson City. Funeral services will follow at 7:00pm with Minister Tim Carlson officiating along with memories shared by family and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Roselawn Memory Gardens (3033 S. Roan Street), Johnson City. Pallbearers will be Brian Graham, Hayden Graham, Jack Campbell, Nicholas Campbell, Cory Mcgown and Blake Workman. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45pm.

Condolences and flowers may be sent to her family at Appalachian Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 800 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City, 928-6111. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Walnut Christian Church in her name to continue the spread of God’s word.
