James "Jimmy" William Adams, age 59, of Telford, TN, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, December 14, 2018. Born in Johnson City, TN and a life-long resident of Washington County, he was the son of Betty Larimer Adams of the Sulphur Springs Community and the late Billy Don “Pug” Adams. He worked previously in the Food Broker business. Jimmy loved golfing, enjoyed hunting and farming on family land for many years. He was musically inclined, known to play several different instruments including church organ, guitar and fiddle. But mostly, Jimmy was especially gifted at playing the piano and improvising 'by ear,' playing music by what he heard. He shared his heart through the unique way he moved across the keys in rhythm and sync. He will be greatly missed and so will his Heartsongs.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents Wilson and Callie Adams and J.E. and Alma Larimer as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his loving wife Rhonda Jarvis Adams; step-children Kathaleen Ciganik, Jennifer Keck and husband Jerry, Bellamy Groff and husband Gary, and Clayton Putt; grandchildren Angelina Hopson, Brandon Ely, and Maylea Groff; sisters Sherri Adams, Terri Underwood and husband Howard; sister-in-law Rhea Jarvis; nieces and nephews Brad Underwood and fiancee' Stephanie Tebo, Jessie Helsel and husband Matt, Samantha Miller and husband Bradley, and Casey Graves; special friends Mike “Tater” Lewis, Greg Clear, Tim Harris and Bo Bowman.
A Celebration of the life of Jimmy will be conducted on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at New Hope Church of the Brethren, 352 New Hope Church Rd., Jonesborough, TN 37659.
