Clarence Gene Webster, age 91, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Norton, Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert Thomas and Ethel Stidham Webster. Mr. Webster was a 1945 graduate of Science Hill High School and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Johnson City. He was a veteran serving for 3 years in the United States Marine Corps, and four years in the United States Air Force. Mr. Webster lived for many years in Melbourne, Florida. He retired from the Kennedy Space Center and NASA as a Property Manager.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Webster is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lee Potter Webster; two sisters, Evelyn Tunnell and Mildred Simmons; three brothers, Samuel Webster, William David Webster, and Robert Thomas Webster, Jr.
Survivors include a brother, James Leland Webster, Jonesborough and one sister, Virginia Anderson, Toms River, New Jersey. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The visitation for Mr. Webster will be conducted on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in the East Chapel from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. The graveside service and interment will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Paul B. Longmire officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
