Alice Dale Hulse, age 79, of Jonesborough, TN, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A native of Mitchell County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ted and Pansy Whitson Jones. Mrs. Hulse was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. She loved her church and her church family. She was a graduate of Milligan College and was owner and operator of Johnson City Woodworking and Custom Made Windows of Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hulse was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy C. Sparks.
Survivors include her husband, Dexter Hulse, Jonesborough; daughter, Emmaline Hulse, Jonesborough; two sons, Theodore Sparks, Calahan, Florida, and Terry Dale Sparks, Sr. and wife Marie, Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Alice Marie Johnson, Terry Dale Sparks, Jr., Jessie Lee Sparks, and Nicole Sparks Taylor; sister, Janice Verran; brother, Charles Cotton Jones and wife Sharon. Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hulse will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2019 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Clark officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 until 12:30 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at the Mountain Home National Cemetery following the funeral service on Thursday. Active pallbearers will be selected from her church family.
